Detailed feedback on Forbidden Planet
I picked up Forbidden Planet during their anniversary sale, got a pretty solid discount which was great. The ordering process on the site was straightforward; added it to my cart, checkout was quick. Downloaded the library using their Installation Center, which worked fine, though it took a while to download everything with my internet speed. The sounds themselves are really inspiring, lots of unique textures and pads that I couldn't find elsewhere. I did have a small question about routing some outputs in my DAW, and I used their online support form. Got a reply within 24 hours, which was decent, and they helped me figure it out. The Opus engine is powerful, but it has a bit of a learning curve if you're used to other platforms. Still, the sonic quality and depth of the samples are top-notch for cinematic work. Very pleased with this particular library.
Decent, but support was slow
I bought the Hollywood Orchestra during a holiday sale. The libraries themselves are really good, sound professional. Delivery was digital, of course, and that part was instant. However, I had a small issue with the Opus engine authorization on my new computer and it took their customer service a few days to get back to me. Once they did, the solution was straightforward, but the wait was a bit annoying. Overall, still happy with the purchase given the quality and discount I got.
Good value for Hollywood Strings
I was looking to upgrade my string library and caught Hollywood Strings on sale. Got it for about 50% off which felt like a steal. It was still a big purchase for me, but the quality for the price I paid was excellent. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth. Installation was smooth enough, too.
